The Story of Aleppo or the Disillusion of Media

Trust none of what you hear, some of what you read, half of what you see.

Nassim Nicholas Taleb wrote in one of his article on Syria and the Statistics of War:

“Trust none of what you hear, some of what you read, half of what you see.”

It almost looks like a coordinated PR campaign.

Aren’t you curious enough to wonder how come all the mainstream media have the exact same story to tell about Aleppo? Whether it’s in French, English or Arabic. Do they all have the same sources on the ground in Aleppo? I think so.

  • The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights based in the UK.
  • The White Helmets funded by the US and the UK.
  • Activists on Twitter or Periscope who still have internet access.

Do they just write any story that supports their own government strategy in Syria? Regime change and shows the world the butchers Bachar Al Assad and Vladimir Putin are by killing civilians? Do they even try to tell you something new? No. It almost looks like a coordinated PR campaign. Doesn’t this situation remind you of anything at all? Do you have a short memory? The US invaded Iraq without the UN authorisation. All we heard beforehand on the mainstream news was about the weapons of mass destruction (WMD). It was their pretext to invade Iraq. Was it the truth? No. Yet, you still believe the media and their false truth. Isn’t it also interesting to notice different stories independent media write about Syria and Aleppo? How is it possible to have completely different stories? Is it for the fame? I don’t think so as big corporate media are much stronger and have the majority of viewers. What about this press conference at the UN on 9th December where Eva Bartlett, an independent Canadian journalist, destroys mainstream media lies (3min video if you are a tiny bit interested)?

“How can media maintain until this day that this is a civil war in Syria?”

That is absolutely not true when the Syrian government is fighting the terrorists (aka moderate rebels by the West). Those same terrorists that are using civilians as human shields, torturing them and have attacked us in Europe.

“How can they maintain that the Syrian government is attacking civilians in Aleppo when every person that’s coming out of these areas occupied by terrorists is saying the opposite?”

Oh no, she can’t be telling the truth as she accuses the “good side” of lying. It must be Russian propaganda. It’s interesting to see how only the corporate media have the right news or story. But coming from any other newspaper, it’s propaganda and false.

Did you even know Aleppo had a mayor?

And what about Brita Hagi Hassan? Who is that? The one and only mayor of Aleppo who has been on a world tour in the last weeks. Did you even know Aleppo had a mayor? Sometimes they even say he’s the mayor of East Aleppo, which would officially mean Aleppo is divided in two. But is it? Except the fact the Syrian government is in the west and the terrorists in the east, I don’t think so. Oh, and by the way, I know Wikipedia is not the best source but still, have a look at the mayor’s name: Ayman Hallaq. Check it out yourself Aleppo’s Mayor. So who the fuck is Brita Hagi Hassan and where the fuck is Ayman Hallaq? Another hilarious thing I found in my research, the nomination of the “actual” mayor for the World Mayor Prize 2016. Also, if you google “mayor of Aleppo” and go through the 20 pages all the results relate to the same recent news. Google also informs me of the following:

“In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the 203 already displayed.”

I find this odd.

Every civilian’s murder is a crime against humanity.

Let’s go back to 2015, 4 years after the beginning of the war in Syria, when the Russian military intervention started. All the media covered this intervention. Criticized it and blame the Russians for all the civilians casualties. When there were no critics whatsoever on the “coalition” military intervention since 2011. Because obviously, Americans can only be on the good side of history. And Russians can only be the aggressor and enemy, on the wrong side of history. What an irony! What about Mosul? Yes, Mosul! Shame on you dear reader! In Mosul, you approve the Iraqi military’s assault supported by the American and the “coalition” air raids to free the city from terrorists. In Aleppo, you condemn the Syrian’s army military’s assault supported by the Russian air raids to free the city from those same terrorists! Shame on you. In both situations, innocent civilians casualties are at stake. Every civilian’s murder is a crime against humanity. But you and the West do not care about it as long as America wins. But when Russia wins, a genocide or a holocaust is happening. Those are not my words but the media’s word. I find this unbearable to my human mind. Shame on you dear reader. Shame on France. Shame on the UK. Shame on the US. Shame on Europe. Shame on NATO. Shame on the UN.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but to defeat the Nazi, the United States and the Soviet Union, the world’s biggest enemies back then, had to ally. Americans and Russians must ally to defeat ISIS, this terrible and horrifying Islamic State that threatens the Middle East, Europe, and the World. Unless some countries do not want it for other complex geostrategic reasons? Fine. But in the meantime blame every single one of them for crimes against humanity. Not only Bachar and Vladimir.
